Working to bring Nadia’s flower-dreams to life was a true pleasure, and she will forever remain one of the most ‘chilled’ brides we’ve encountered.

Given that she is a natural-born creative, and an experienced interior designer and furniture creator, Nadia shocked us in that she had more of a feel of what she was after, rather than being overly prescriptive about the ingredients used. She was sure on only a few things, and that was that she wanted a unique and sculptural alter installation - AND that blue hydrangea was something she was really hoping to feature in a big way.

Out of caution for the changing season (goodbye hydrangea, I mean), we were reluctant to make promises on the blue hydrangea until the wedding day and thank god for that because the week of the wedding, it was nowhere to be found

- but here we are with another Oxytocin miracle story, because at the last minute one of our suppliers came through with our order and we got busy making this structure!

Over 40x bunches of locally grown hydrangea, and almost 20 bunches of locally grown Ming Fern went into this ceremonial arbour, and it was intended for 360 degree viewing meaning that the back was almost as stunning as the front.

Nadia opted for vibrant florals for her and her maids, and a more understated floral menu for reception with more attention on the vessels chosen by her.

The standout piece for the reception was a memorial chair for Nadia’s sister who sadly couldn’t be there to see her special day. The memorial chair was an honour to be tasked with, and we only hope we did Nadia and her family proud.
